Brompton Technology Wins King’s Award for Innovation

West London-based Brompton Technology has been honoured with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for 2025, marking another major milestone for the company and spotlighting Hounslow as a key player in the UK’s creative and tech industries.

According to the official press release, Brompton is one of just 197 UK organisations to receive a King’s Award this year, with the company recognised specifically for its cutting-edge Tessera SX40 LED video processor. The SX40 is lauded for its ability to support high-performance 4K workflows and transform complex LED display challenges through innovations such as Dynamic Calibration, ShutterSync®, Frame Remapping, and Extended Bit Depth.

Brompton Technology is headquartered in Hounslow’s Creative Enterprise Zone – Creative Enterprise West, a borough-wide initiative to support innovation and creative industries. The company’s technology powers world-class virtual production studios and live events, from Barbie, The Mandalorian, and House of the Dragon, to global music tours by Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.

CEO Richard Mead called the award a “testament to the ingenuity and hard work of our team,” and emphasised the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainable product design and customer support.

Founded in 2011, Brompton has grown into a global leader in LED processing, with offices in the US and Asia, and a track record of industry recognition that includes an Emmy® Award, AV Manufacturer of the Year, and a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2020.

The King’s Award programme, now in its 59th year, is considered the UK’s most prestigious business accolade. Winners gain the right to use the royal emblem for five years.

With its innovations helping to drive the global shift toward virtual production and sustainable filming practices, Brompton’s latest achievement not only celebrates its engineering excellence but also reinforces Hounslow’s status as a thriving hub for creative technology.
