OtherFold Brings Authentic Wood-Fired Sauna To Boston Manor House

A traditional wood-fired sauna has arrived in the grounds of Boston Manor House, bringing a Nordic bathing ritual to one of Golden Mile London’s most historic settings.

Other Fold Sauna Co. — trading as OtherFold — has sited the sauna in the parkland at Boston Manor House on Boston Manor Road, Brentford, overlooking the ornamental lake. It is heated by a wood-burning stove rather than an electric element, the distinction the company puts at the centre of its offer: signage on site promises “an authentic wood-fired sauna experience”.

Sessions run for 50 minutes and take up to eight people, priced at £18 per person, with both community sessions and private hire available. A cold plunge sits alongside the cabin for contrast bathing, and changing rooms, showers and the house café are on site. Parking is chargeable on weekdays and free at weekends.

The setting is what makes it unusual. Boston Manor House is a Grade I listed Jacobean manor built in 1622–23, owned by the London Borough of Hounslow, which reopened in July 2023 after a six-year restoration supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The surrounding 20-acre park is free to enter every day from 8am until dusk; its cedar trees were planted in 1754.

OtherFold say of the experience “It’s not just about the heat, it’s about what it burns away.”
